Winnsboro placed four teams in the top 10 on Saturday at the Texas High School Bass Association tournament at Lake Fork.

Derrick Coffman and Cooper Standridge placed third. They caught five fish weighing in at 7.14 pounds.

Skeet Brumley and Slayton Hood placed fifth with five fish and a total weight of 6.77 pounds.

Josh Blair and Colten Blair caught five for 6.20 pounds, good for eighth place; and Kaylee Spencer and Harlee Smith came in 10th with five fish weighing 5.77.

Other teams turning in solid performances were Nathan Brown and Alex Holcomb (15th, five fish, 5.40 pounds), Hayden Potts and Carsten Moore (18th, five, 5.18), Gunner Lovelady and Kale Robinson (22nd, five, 4.79), and Pake South and Gage Ivey (24th, four, 4.62).

Winnsboro finished second as a team. They had 14 boats with anglers for this tournament.

In the Big Fish contest, Collin Petty and Kanyon Russom had the ninth heaviest individual fish (1.91 pounds), and Brumley and Hood had the 10th heaviest (1.89). The largest fish caught weighed in at 2.49 pounds.

It was a cold day on the lake with early morning temps at 32 degrees. Also adding to the difficulty of this tournament, Lake Fork is a slot lake with a limit of 16-24 inches; it is illegal to retain any fish that measure over 16 inches and less than 24 inches. One angler said he had caught a seven-pounder that had to be thrown back because it measured 22 inches.

Rockwall had the top team with a total weight of 7.43 pounds. Grand Saline had three teams in the top 10.
