Our Winnsboro tennis teams turned in exceptional performances at the District 13-3A tournament on April 23-24 at Quitman.
Tenison Stephens and Jet Bass were crowned district champions in girls doubles, and Laura Barth was the district runner up in girls singles. The trio will advance into the Region II-3A tournament set for May 9-10 at Tyler Junior College.
Other solid performances included a third-place finish in boys singles by Nate Condrey, plus fourth-place finishes for Joey Henry in boys singles, Hadlee Brown and Journi Vail in girls doubles, and Jeanna Leal and Chris Patneude in mixed doubles.
Both the Red Raiders and Lady Raiders teams also earned district runner up honors.
